3 Days 17 Hours to Christmas

I'm SO excited about Christmas. I'm waiting at the airport for my flight to Bloem (and subsequent drive to Welkom), counting down the hours :P

Heath's been up there for a week already and I'm really looking forward to seeing her again. It sounds like she's had a great time with Fi and her folks, and I'm really looking forward to seeing them all as well.

But I digress... back to Christmas! What does Christmas really mean? I know I get excited about the presents and all, and much more excited about giving them, rather than receiving them (please Santa, I do still want my prezzies ;) ), but that's not what it's really about is it?

What are your thoughts on Christmas?

Heath is in Welkom already, starting her holiday early with her folks and sister. I've been "home alone" for the past 4 days :(

But it's been a busy few days. Friday I went to see Eragon with Johan and Mervin. It's a great fantasy/adventure movie. I can't wait for the next part!

Saturday I finished up our Christmas shopping, and went through to Strand, saw Happy Feet at Sommerset Mall (NOT a good idea to go to a mall at 12pm on a Saturday, 1 week before Christmas!), and spend the afternoon visiting Ian and Laura (my dad's brother).

Happy Feet was so much fun... well the first 2 3rds were fun. Then they just went totally off track with the whole ecology stuff! What I did find interesting was an interesting take on tradition vs change. It's amazing how scared we can be of something that looks different to what we're used to!

Church was amazing yesterday. I'm really sorry we're not going to be there for the Christmas eve service, but I'm looking forward to spending time with my in-laws.
The rest of the day was spent with the Schnehage jnrs. We had a braai and Ryan's flat. It was a very rustig time, although the sun got the better of me and now i'm trying to hide the pain :P

3 More days of work.... Yay!
